Why is the credential on blockchain, and do I need a crypto wallet?
We use the Base blockchain because on-chain Soulbound Tokens (SBTs) are mathematically impossible to forge, alter, or transfer to someone else. However, you do NOT need a crypto wallet, Web3 knowledge, or gas fees: you sign in with Google or email, and account abstraction creates your secure profile in the background. Network fees are 100% sponsored by MeritLink.
How does pricing work?
Everything is paid in credits, and one credit is one dollar. A 60-second quiz costs 1 credit, a live coding or pitch challenge costs 2. You get free credits when you sign up — 2 as a candidate, 5 as a company — and top up from $10 when you run out. There is no subscription, and credits stay valid for twelve months.
What stops someone from cheating?
Our proprietary MeritLink Evidence Fusion™ mechanism audits each attempt end-to-end: on-device biometric liveness and identity verification before starting, randomized question draws from approved pools, and continuous anti-fraud telemetry (window focus losses, paste detection, and real-time execution analysis). Is my video or biometric data stored anywhere?
The biometric and proctoring analysis runs directly in your browser. What is retained as proof is the derived telemetry signal and a cryptographic hash — never a library of raw recordings of your face.
